JUNIOR RECRUITMENT

The SFU Rowing Senior Team is a high-performance crew competing at the club level within the Canadian University Rowing Association (CURA). As part of SFU’s fastest-growing sport, our senior athletes train 5-6 times per week, combining on-water sessions and dryland workouts to build endurance, strength, and technical skill. During the competitive season, training can total 10-15 hours per week, preparing athletes to excel at regattas across Canada.

More than just a team, SFU Rowing fosters a supportive and friendly environment, where athletes push each other to improve while maintaining a healthy balance between academics and sport—truly putting the “student” in student-athlete. Whether you're aiming for a podium finish or looking to challenge yourself in a dynamic and team-oriented sport, SFU Rowing offers the opportunity to compete, grow, and be part of a driven community—all while in a lower-pressure environment than other intense varsity programs in BC.

Senior Team Fee: $450/term

As SFU Rowing is a designated as a club at the university, there are no scholarships available to recruited junior athletes. However, financial assistance is provided through fundraising and sponsorships. We never want finances to be a barrier to junior athletes wishing to continue their career at the university-level.
